Hustings #1
I spoke at a hustings today in Glasgow, run by Youthlink Scotland, and held at Hampden, and it’s the first time I’d ever been in one of the boxes overlooking the pitch. It came the same day the Executive unveiled its strategy for youth work, “Moving Forward”. It’s a professional looking document, full of happy smiling young people, and no doubt it cost a lot to produce. There can be few areas of life where the Executive hasn’t introduced a strategy. The document doesn’t seem to be on the Executive website yet, but two gems are: what looks like Jack McConnell’s “Lunchbox Strategy”, and an analysis of what people think about planning as it concerns renewable energy – too many windfarms and not enough emphasis on micro-renewables. Well, there’s a surprise.
